Home Canned Pickles

Home Canning Pickles...

Hmmmmmmm... there's nothing finer than a crunchy dill pickle and I do believe that the best I have ever tasted was home canned.

Tips for selecting cucumbers:

You want to make sure that you select only fresh and firm cucumbers with no signs of spoilage. The size of the cucumber should not be more than 6 inches long when making dill pickles. The larger cucumbers are better used for making relish.

It's also best not to use cucumbers that have been waxed. The pickling brine will not be able to penetrate the wax coating.

Below are a few of our recipes we would like to share. Enjoy!
